Printed on clear film
Clear stickers are printed on optically clear vinyl, so whatever is behind them shows through and the artwork appears to sit directly on the surface rather than on a white patch. On glass, on a coloured bottle or on a painted panel that means no visible sticker edge and no rectangle of white around the design — which is usually the whole reason people ask for them.
The one thing worth knowing about clear
Printing ink is translucent. On a dark or strongly coloured surface, light colours look muted and white barely registers at all unless we print a white underbase beneath the artwork — a separate layer of solid white laid down first, in the shape of the design, so the colours on top read as intended. It is a normal part of the job, but it has to be planned rather than discovered, so if your design depends on white or on pale colours, say where it is going when you ask and we will set it up correctly.
Where clear works best
Glass and acrylic, clear and amber bottles, jars and cosmetic packaging, window logos that need to read from both sides, laptop and phone stickers, branding on tinted or coloured surfaces, and anywhere a visible sticker border would look cheap. Clear film is also the usual answer for a logo on a light-coloured vehicle panel where a white background would be obvious.
Clear, frosted or white — which one?
Clear film disappears and lets the surface through; it needs a white underbase to hold pale colours on a dark background. Frosted or etched-glass film is translucent rather than transparent and is the privacy option — see window decals. Plain white vinyl gives the strongest, most consistent colour of the three and is what printed stickers use as standard. For solid single-colour work on glass, cut vinyl with no background at all often beats all three — vinyl lettering is that option.
Applying them to glass
Clear film shows every fingerprint and every trapped bubble, because there is no printed background to hide them. Clean the glass with isopropyl alcohol rather than a household cleaner that leaves a residue, work above roughly 10°C, and squeegee from the centre outwards. Larger clear pieces are much easier applied wet — a little soapy water lets you float the sticker into position before it grabs. The method is in our application guide.
Outdoor life and care
Clear stickers get the same UV laminate as our other printed work, which is what lets them live outdoors and on bottles that get handled. Expect a few years outside before visible fading, longer indoors and on anything kept out of direct sun. Wash by hand: a dishwasher cycle combines heat, detergent and pressure and is harder on any sticker than weather is.

Do you ship across Canada?
Yes — standard shipping is free anywhere in Canada. Expedited shipping is available on request; tell us your deadline and we will quote it alongside the free option.
Will I see a proof first?
Always. Every job gets a proof by email showing size, colour, spelling and layout, and nothing is cut or printed until you approve it.
How long does it take?
Most decal, sticker and lettering jobs are made within about five business days of proof approval, plus shipping. Larger signs and installations are scheduled with you. In a hurry? Say so and we will tell you honestly what is possible.
What file format should I send?
Vector artwork (SVG, PDF, AI or EPS) stays sharp at any size. A high-resolution PNG or JPG also works — at least 150 DPI at the finished size. We check it at the size you need and tell you before printing if it will not hold up.
Are printed stickers waterproof?
Yes. The UV laminate seals the ink against water, sun and scuffing, so rain, car washes and water bottles are fine. Dishwashers are harsher than weather and will eventually lift edges, so hand-wash anything you want to keep.
What surfaces will a vinyl decal stick to?
Vinyl wants smooth, clean and non-porous. Glass, painted or enamelled metal, powder-coated panels, sealed or varnished wood, acrylic and smooth rigid plastics all hold well. Gloss and semi-gloss painted drywall is fine; flat paint is less reliable and heavy texture is a gamble. It will not hold on brick, concrete, stucco, raw or weathered wood, or anything chalky or flaking — there is nothing continuous for the adhesive to grip. Send a close-up photo of the surface if you are unsure and we will tell you before you order.
Can you ship cut vinyl decals to my province?
Yes — every province and territory, with free standard shipping. Cut vinyl travels better than almost anything else a sign shop makes: it ships flat or rolled, pre-masked with transfer tape, so it arrives ready to apply and there is no surcharge for distance. The same decal costs a customer in British Columbia what it costs one in Ontario. Expedited shipping is quoted on request — tell us your deadline when you ask. Only installation stays local, across the Belleville, Kingston and Napanee area.
What if something is wrong when it arrives?
Custom work cannot be returned for a change of mind, because it is made specifically for you — but if it arrives faulty, damaged or not as proofed, contact us within 14 days with a photo and we will remake or refund it.
